It all started with a cabin bag that was turned away

On a trip to Spain, I had an unwelcome surprise at the airport. My cabin bag was light, but just over the permitted dimensions. The result: it was rejected, and I had to pay extra fees. That day, I realised the real problem wasn't the weight of our belongings, but the space they take up.

The vacuum concept

Looking back on that mishap, a simple image came to mind: the vacuum storage bags my mother used to pack away the winter duvet. What if you could do the same with your travel clothes? Then the idea grew: why not build that vacuum compartment directly into a backpack?

The new cabin bag

I set to work on the design. The first prototype delivered on space, but clothes came out creased, which was unacceptable to me. Working with the factory, we redesigned the pocket and chose a new material so it could compress clothes without creasing or damaging them. And so the Air Original vacuum travel backpack was born.

So much more than a travel bag

My goal has stayed the same since day one: to help you take everything you need, with 50% more space in a cabin bag, without paying baggage fees. And because I love travelling with all my gear, every detail has been designed to be practical, ergonomic and built to last. That is the Airtravia® promise: travel without limits.
